VOLUNTEER AS A COACH
Be a Mentor: Volunteer as a Coach and Shape the Future of Student Athletes!

BACKGROUND CHECK

 1) You WILL need to consent to your background check electronically first.  

 2) You WILL need to complete the SafeSport training second (takes about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours to complete depending on the course you are required to complete).   

 3) Both items from #1 and #2 above WILL need to be completed before you can be Approved by USA Softball.  

 4) An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to consent to your background check and complete the SafeSport training.  Please don’t do this ahead of time until after you’ve received the email from the MVGSA Membership Coordinator and USA Softball to properly associate your info with our league. 

 5) Per our current rules (Article 2 – Intramural Division League – Section 10 – Team Personnel – B.5), SafeSport MUST be completed before the team’s first game or Opening Day (whichever comes first).  Completion of SafeSport is a USA Softball requirement.  

 6) You will NOT receive your MVGSA badge until you’ve completed consenting to your background check and your SafeSport training.  

 7) Background Checks and SafeSport certifications are good for 1 year (September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023 – USA Softball calendar year.).  

HOW TO REGISTER

• Visit www.mvgsa.com  
• Sign-in using the username and password you used for registration. Note: If you don’t have an account with Teamsideline, select Create a new account.   
• Once logged, select Place Order and enter the required information under the Program Information section. 
• Enrollee: Your name. 
• Enrollment Type: Volunteer. Program: Select the current season (example:  Fall Season – Fall 2022).  
• Offering will be the division you will be helping.  
• Enrollment Selection:  Select the role you wish to help as and add enrollment. 
• Select the Background Fee for Parent $30.00. Note: If you are a team head coach, do NOT add this option. 
• Confirm the payment information and place order.
